๐Ÿ“œ HISTORY OF BELLVIEW

"The mirrors were there before the school. Or so Peter Bell said."

A Timeline

YearEvent
1966Bellview Elementary opens on land donated by Peter R. Bell. The mirrors in the bathrooms are "salvage" from an abandoned hospital. (Nobody asks which hospital.)
1971The second-floor girls' bathroom is closed for one week. Reason: "plumbing." A plumber later says he found no plumbing problems, but every mirror had a hairline crack in the shape of a hand.
1979First disappearance: Todd Harker, 7, vanished on the playground during recess. His classmates said a girl in a red dress was sitting on the jungle gym. There is no jungle gym.
1986Peter R. Bell dies. His last words: "I left something in the mirror. It needs to be fed."
1992The second floor sealed. The principal publishes a letter: "Some children do not know when recess is over."
1994A new mirror is installed in Room 6. The next morning it already had fingerprints on the inside. They were child-sized.
1998I start this site. ๐Ÿชž

Rules of the Hallway

  1. Never touch a mirror after the 3:00 PM bell.
  2. Never say "Maribel" near any reflective surface. She answers.
  3. If your reflection is not in sync with you โ€” run, but do not turn around. She follows the reflection, not you. (Run toward glass.)
  4. The girl in the red dress is not a student. Do not ask her name twice.
